License issuing authority is Chief Traffic Officer. In-charge of Licensing Branch is a DSP Traffic HQ, who is also given a charge of issuing licenses on behalf of CTO. The said DSP is further responsible for managerial and driving tests issues, under the supervision of Chief Traffic Officer.

Our force has engraved new modifications in licensing. So, a computerized revolution has taken place in Licensing Branch. New learner permit and regular License now meets International Standards. Our new license system is based upon Information Technology Department, Punjab. In this system PVC card and magnetic strip is used for printing of License.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR LEARNER PERMIT:

1 . A copy of N.I.C.
2 . A Ticket of Rs.60 (for each category's Learner Permit) from any Post Office.
3 . Get a Code Book of Traffic Rules & Regulation.
4 . Medical Certificate (for the candidates of 50 years and above)
Note: Learner permits are issued on Daily Bases and have a Validity period of 6 months but after 42 days a candidate is authorised to apply for a fresh Driving License.

RENEWAL OF LEARNER PERMIT:

Ticket of Rs. 40 is required for renewal with in the time duration. If the learner expires then previous learner along with 60 Rs. Ticket is required.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR PERMANENT LICENSE.

2. Original Learner Permit of atleast 6 weeks.
3. Medical Certificate
4. 3 Passport size fresh Photographs(Attested)
5. An Attested Copy of N.I.C.
6. Paste Tickets as approved by the government.
7. Affidavit.

Driving Ticket Fee, renewal fee for 5 years.

I. Motor Cycle: Ticket of Rs. 550
II. Motor Car: Ticket of Rs. 900
III. Motor Cycle/ Motor Car: Ticket of Rs. 950

Note: New Ticket Schedule will apply in case of Amendment in Fee Tickets by the Government.

Note: I. Applicant will bring his original N.I.C, Driving License and Passport with him.

The following documents are required for Renewal of License:

2. 1 Photo Graph Passport Size, a copy of NIC, Original Driving License and a Ticket of relevant License. License is renewed for five years.

Fine incase of non-Renewal:

1. With in 30 days of Expiry: Nill
2. After 30 Days and with in 90 days: 50% of License Fee
3. After 90 Days and with in 1 Year: Equal to License Fee
4. After 1 Year: 150% of the License Fee
5. After 3 yeras: Licence will be expired
